LENA Class Childcare Assistant-VBPL GrowSmart Childcare Assistant
The LENA Start Program is seeking caring, dependable volunteers to support onsite childcare during LENA sessions. Volunteers help craft a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 0–5 while parents participate in parent education sessions.
First Grade READS: Tutor-Mentor
The award-winning Virginia Beach READS mentor-tutoring program for first-grade readers is seeking volunteers for the school year at various VB elementary schools. The program offers one-on-one assistance to young readers for one hour each week. Minimum age: 18. Training provided.
CASA Advocate
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courtroom. This is a meaningful role working to provide critical information to judges to ensure children’s rights and needs are prioritized.
Parks & Recreation Adopt-A-Programs
The program is a two-year commitment where organizations, groups, businesses, families, & individuals (18 years of age & older) agree to perform a minimum of one cleanup every other month (six per year).
